Performance FAQs
Is belly dancing family friendly?
Absolutely! Parents and children alike enjoy the dancing, music, costumes and liveliness of this beautiful dance. Frequently both children and adults are happy to be invited by the dancer to participate in the fun.
Is tipping appropriate?
Yes, unless the host has specified otherwise. Tips may be tucked in the belt of the costume or thrown over the dancer’s head in a “money shower”.
Will you dance with my husband/wife/son/father/friend?
Of course! The guest of honor at the party is encouraged to dance as well as the other guests.
What kind of music will be provided?
Lea has an extensive musical library with Arabic, Greek and Turkish music among others which she will bring on a CD. The CD is yours to keep after the party.
What kind of costume will be worn?
Typically a two piece costume is worn with a decorated bra and fitted skirt or a bra, belt and a skirt. An equally beautiful dress may be worn for more conservative venues and tastes.
How far in advance should I book a performance?
Generally, the sooner, the better. Holiday and graduation/wedding periods are frequently busy so it’s good to book ahead of time to ensure availability.
Can I book more than one dancer?
Yes. Lea knows many talented dancers who are happy to collaborate to give you an exciting show.
